This EIS-DVD is only to be used when installing a new Sun system.
It may also be used when updating patches on a system when it is
certain that the end-customer has entitlement (Service Contract).
This EIS release includes full documentation on it's aim and usage.
What is EIS?
EIS is an methodology covering the installation of Sun systems and storage. The methodology is supported by a number of tools.
Initially EIS was created by a task force within Germany designated to investigate and improve all aspects of server installations. The results of this task force first spread across EMEA and “went global”.
Our motto is: "from the field, by the field, for the field".
This shows that the EIS team have their feet firmly on the ground and are in close contact with field engineers.
Purpose of the EIS-DVD

[#] It is useful when performing subsequent patch updates.
[#] It is for Solaris/SPARC and Solaris/x86 systems manufactured by Sun.
This EIS is for sparc and x86.
Use on your own risk, since support is available only to Sun customers (support contract owners).
