NDK (formerly known as ns_kit7) is a multi-gigabit single hit drum and cymbal sample library with an extensive stratification speed and articulation options, allowing for the ultimate in realism and performance.

What other software is required to use NDK

We recommend that you use NDK in conjunction with Native Instruments Kontakt 2 or 3, Steinberg HALion soft-sampler. Extensive presets for both formats are included, allowing users to take advantage of features such as random-robin trigger on the stick and snare flying over the changes, directly from the disk streaming, multiple outputs, individual drum / cymbal panning and speed, the ability to mix and match your own kits, and loads more.

If you do not already have one of these soft samplers (and do not rely on investing in one any time soon) is a cheap alternative HALion Player - for the average user, which is ideal and will not break the bank.

Examples of this library are not embedded or locked in any way. This allows the user to create custom presets in the sampler format of their choice. To make this as easy as possible, the files were all named in a logical way to mapping a breeze.

Also, thanks to the comprehensive nature and varied in this library, NDK is also an ideal candidate for use in the drum replacement software.

The library of the sample NDK was 2 years in the making and was recorded over several months by Douglas Whats in his studio in Glasgow, Scotland. Douglas Hand edited about half a million points of departure, the end points and fades, and manually bounced down to about 22,000 audio files. Many of our unique kits (6 pcs Shell Pack, snare, hi-hat and cymbals) had more individual hits, as a direct byproduct of the large number of articulations and velocity layers, as any acoustic instrument sampled others currently on the market.
