Notes:Oats are common today as human food as they are as fodder for animals,but in the Ancient and Middle Ages they were only used to feed animals,because they were believed to be a mediocre unworthy food. Oats arereally healthy food, especially because of their cholesterol-loweringproperties. In Scotland Oats are highly esteemed and a part of thenational diet. Oats are grown throughout the temperate zones. They have alower summer heat requirement and greater tolerance of rain than othercereals like wheat, rye or barley.

Notes:The Tea plant is usually a shrub or small tree. In cultivation, it iskept at an average height of 3 meters and in a spreading shrub posture(subspecies Sinensis). But in the wild, the subspecies Assamica can growup to 20 meters! More than 3000 different types of tea are createdblending the leaves of different varieties of this tree. The Teainfusion was invented in China, but soon became the favorite drink ofJapanese Buddist monks. World tea production is 3.15 million tonsannually.
