Ramones - The Family Tree (2008) APEEAC rip | 2CD | APE - Log - Cue | Covers | Release: 2008 | 573 MB
Genre: New Wave | Label: Rockaway Records, Music Brokers ArgThe Ramones was, undoubtedly, one of the most influential bands in Rock history. Taking the most basic and primitive elements from the rock of the 50's and pop of the 60's with a remarkable quote of street attitude, the Ramones have created, almost by chance, the fundamental stone of the sound which later resulted in punk and its consequent sounds.
This new compilation album was released in South America by Music Brokers Argentina and modestly entitled "RAMONES (The Family Tree)". The officially licensed CD was compiled by Ramones fans and includes rare cuts featuring the Ramones themselves as well as those rooted in the band's family tree, contains never released before version of "Slug" recorded live in New York, during Joey's birthday party in 1999. Released only as import limited edition this two disc set also includes extensive liner notes on all of the bands and the corresponding tracks. A must have for any Rock & Roll lovers & every Ramones fan.
Drummer Thomas Erdelyi (Tommy Ramone) was the one who got his friends Jeffrey Hyman (Joey Ramone, singer), John Cummings (Jonnhy Ramone, guitarist) and Douglas Colvin (Dee Dee Ramone, bass player) together in order to create the group in 1974. They never imagined that it was going to last for 22 years, and that they were going to perform 2,200 live shows and with scarcely no changes in the line up. The group split in August 1996, but it was not the end, since its spirit is still alive in a new generations of fans, through the rediscovering of their music and the permanent reissuing of old material. They did not find it enough to release more than a dozen original albums. During and after those 22 years, all the members had parallel projects, where they showed many musical unknown spects of themselves. They also supported new groups they liked, without forgetting their origin or stopping to play live their classic songs with other artists.
In this double album, with 28 tracks (following the tradition of their first records of 14 tracks each) we present different projects of the most important members of the group, from the first demos (1975) to Joe's and Dee Dee's last recordings, the adventures as a solo artist of Marc Bell (Marky Ramone, substitute on drums after founder member Tommy's departure) or the new project of young Christopher Joseph Ward (CJ Ramone), Bad Chopper. This material has a great musical diversity, emphasizing the quality of all its projects and presenting many jewels, absolutely impossible to find the record market, and a whole bunch of not yet released and never before heard songs. We truly hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed compiling it.
