Alan Wakes American Nightmare an action horror based on the story, produced in digital format. The game is a follower of Alan Wake, but it is not a sequel. American Nightmare is an independent game that is not reflective of the storyline the series, the game only expands the universe. The developers claim that American Nightmare will not be the last part of a series of Alan Wake, because the sequel is already in development.Alan Wake seems to be stuck in Arizona. Moreover, it is inside one of his episodes of Knight Springs, previously written for the show. During the opening mysteries of his creation, Alan gets in a fight between light and darkness. According to the trailer, demonstrated at the Spike Video Game Awards on December 10, 2011, Alan hunts for Mister Scratch, his counterpart from the Dark Places, was first seen in the final episode of the first game.
